Transmissible Infectious Diseases
The Transmissible Infectious Diseases (TID) Interest Group aims to enhance emergency department-based detection and response to infectious disease threats through networking, mentorship, and collaboration. It fosters academic exchange on best practices, screening, research, and mentorship, building a coordinated network for rapid and effective response.
Group Objectives
- Create a forum of academic exchange and collaboration with like-minded people who are invested in the intersection of emergency medicine, TID, and other overlapping topics.
- Improve the collection and dissemination of best practices for emergency department implementation, as well as members and institutions that are engaged in HIV/HCV screening.
- Expand our collective exposure to experts and stakeholders, including those from other specialties and agencies (e.g., government, public health, community, etc.)
- Develop a mentoring/career development pipeline of SAEM members relevant to TID priorities.
