Mary E. Tanski, MD, MBAPresident
Oregon Health & Science University
Mary E. Tanski, MD, MBA, is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University.
Dr. Tanski earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and her medical degree from Wayne State University. She completed her emergency medicine residency at George Washington University, where she served as chief resident. She later completed an emergency medicine administration fellowship and earned a Master of Business Administration at Oregon Health & Science University.
Her work focuses on emergency department operations and quality improvement, with an emphasis on patient flow, no-divert initiatives, and reducing departmental boarding. She is actively involved in education, including teaching health care operations and quality.
Dr. Tanski previously served as medical director of operations and has held multiple leadership roles within her department prior to being appointed chair.

Susan B. Promes, MD, MBAPresident-Elect
Penn State Hershey Emergency Medicine
Susan B. Promes, MD, MBA, is a tenured professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine.
Dr. Promes earned her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Alameda County Medical Center- Highland Hospital, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Promes later earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Davis.
Her work focuses on medical education and clinical guidelines in emergency medicine. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, edited board review texts, and served as the inaugural editor of Academic Emergency Medicine Education and Training.
Dr. Promes has held national leadership roles in academic emergency medicine and received recognition for excellence in education. She has received the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Hal Jayne Excellence in Education Award and the Judith E. Tintinalli Award.

Andra L. Blomkalns, MD, MBASecretary-Treasurer
Stanford University School of Medicine
Andra L. Blomkalns, MD, MBA, is the Redlich Family Professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Blomkalns earned her undergraduate degree from Rice University and her Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati, where she later served as residency program director and vice chair of education. She also earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Prior to joining Stanford, she served as division chief of general emergency medicine and vice chair for academic affairs and business development at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Her research focuses on clinical cardiovascular medicine and basic science investigations of obesity and the gut microbiome. She has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters. She has served as Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) president and currently is a chair the SAEM Wellness Committee.

Ian B.K. Martin, MD, MBAImmediate Past President
Medical College of Wisconsin
Ian Martin, MD, MBA, is system chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also serves as interim senior associate dean for faculty affairs at the Medical College of Wisconsin Medical School, interim associate provost for faculty affairs, and emergency physician-in-chief for the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Health System.
Dr. Martin earned his Bachelor of Science from Duke University, his medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. He completed training in emergency medicine and general internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he served as chief resident.
His work focuses on improving the delivery of emergency care globally, with an emphasis on East Africa. His research includes emergency department-based HIV and hepatitis C testing and acute care epidemiology in resource-limited settings.
Dr. Martin is a past president of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) and founder of the SAEM Global Emergency Medicine Academy. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.

Angela M. Mills, MDMember-at-Large
Columbia University
Angela M. Mills, MD, is the J.E. Beaumont Professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Additionally, she is chief of emergency services for NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia.
Dr. Mills earned her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Mills later served as professor, medical director, and vice chair of clinical operations at the University of Pennsylvania.
As inaugural chair of emergency medicine at Columbia, she leads academic and clinical operations across multiple emergency departments with more than 240,000 annual visits. She helps to advance education, research, clinical care, and diversity and inclusion.
Dr. Mills’ research focuses on acute abdominal pain, disparities in emergency care, radiation risk, imaging, and clinical decision support. She has authored more than 100 publications and received federal and industry funding. She is active in the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM). She has served on the Board of Directors, including as president, and has received national recognition for leadership and education.

David W. Wright, MDMember-at-Large
Emory University School of Medicine
David W. Wright, MD, FACEP, is professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He also directs the Center for Innovation and Discovery in the Acute and Emergent Sciences (IDEAS) and the Emergency Neurosciences Clinical Laboratory and practices at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Wright is nationally recognized for his leadership in translational research, digital health innovation, and academic emergency medicine. His research focuses on acute neurologic injury and systems of emergent care. He has served as principal investigator for multiple National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Department of Defense (DoD)–funded multicenter clinical trials, including the ProTECT III trial. He has also served as southeastern hub principal investigator for the Strategies to Innovate Emergency Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN) and co-principal investigator for Georgia StrokeNet.
His work integrates medicine, technology, and engineering. Also, he holds multiple patents and co-inventing a portable concussion assessment device. Dr. Wright is committed to advancing collaboration, scholarship, and innovation in emergency medicine.
