Climate Change and Health

The Climate Change and Health Interest Group is designed to foster education, research, and advocacy in the realm of CC&H.

Group Objectives

• Create and promote educational initiatives for the emergency medicine (EM) community. This includes, but is not limited to, a continued presence at the SAEM annual meetings, collaborative manuscripts, webinars, and online education.
• Foster research on the intersection of EM and climate change. This includes, but is not limited to, the creation of a forum for collaboration and networking on CC&H research agendas through the interest group website, and providing guidance and resources for those who want to incorporate this topic into their existing research infrastructures.
• Further advocacy around CC&H. This includes strategic advancement of advocacy that bridges the gap between scientific research and policy to promote fiscally-prudent, data-driven, non-partisan policy that safeguards human health.

We will nurture relationships with other institutions and organizations working within this sphere to optimally achieve these objectives.
