Junior Resident

As a junior resident, your focus should be on building a strong foundation during residency. Start familiarizing yourself with the faculty and fellows of your institution's pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) program and pediatric emergency department (PED). If your institution does not have its own PEM program, you must apply for an away rotation. You should also take the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step Three.
