Research Learning Series (RLS) - Biostats Made Simple: Session 4
The Biostats Made Simple series is made up of 30-minute lectures led by Dr. Christine Ramdin. It will cover fundamental biostatistics concepts that every resident and/or early career researcher should know. The series will provide learners the fundamental knowledge regarding: descriptive and inferential statistics, chi-square tests, p-values and confidence intervals, regression analyses, power and sample size, interrater reliability, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to also learn how to conduct these fundamental analyses using excel and SPSS.

Christine Ramdin, PhD, is a faculty member at the Instructor level at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Department of Emergency Medicine. She has a PhD in Biomedical Informatics, and has research interests in Addiction Medicine, Medical Toxicology, Pain Medicine, and Stroke. She has published several studies using big data sources such as NHAMCS, HCUP, and NSSATs, and has worked with the NSDUH and TEDs dataset, along with several other local and national datasets. She has experience in conducting big data analyses and utilizing several different types of statistical methods.
