LEAP Program
Leadership, Engagement, and Academic Pathway (LEAP) Program
Co-sponsored by the SAEM Equity and Inclusion Committee and the Academy for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Medicine (ADIEM)
The LEAP program aims to create a pathway to academic EM for underrepresented in medicine (URiM) medical students, with special consideration for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-serving Institutions (HSIs), and Osteopathic medical schools.
Two student mentees will be selected for each annual cohort. Each student will be paired with an ADIEM member mentor to provide a longitudinal mentoring relationship that begins in the first year of participation.
Applications for both mentee and mentor positions are open. The deadline to apply is October 15, 2024. Selected participants will be notified in November 2024. Please share this flyer to encourage mentee and mentor applications!

Eligible candidates are current M3s from historically marginalized groups and other unique populations including but not limited to individuals with disabilities, sexual or gender minorities, and historically marginalized ethnic and racial groups.
