We all recognize that feedback is essential for our continuous growth and development. Yet, we still find it challenging to receive and utilize effectively. Learning skills that better allow us to process and understand the feedback conversation is crucial for our personal and professional lecture evolution. During this 20-minute conversation, we will explore various case examples illustrating how our response to feedback can shape its effectiveness. Throughout this didactic, audience members will hear how individual temperament influences how we receive feedback; gain strategies to overcome cognitive distortions of feedback; and acknowledge the importance of growth mindset and develop techniques to switch from fixed-mindset to growth-mindset. By the end of this session, audience members will be better equipped to embrace feedback as a valuable tool for growth.
