What is the SAEM Clinical Images Exhibit?
Over 120 photos are submitted to SAEM for the popular photo competition called the SAEM Clinical Images Exhibit. Selected photos and cases will be displayed either by Visual Diagnosis Unknowns or Clinical Pearls. Medical students and residents are invited to participate in the 2020 Visual Diagnosis Contest. The winners in the medical student and resident categories will be awarded a one-year membership in SAEM, a subscription to Academic Emergency Medicine (AEM) Journal, a subscription to Academic Emergency Medicine Education and Training (AEM E&T) Journal, a free registration to attend SAEM20 in Denver, CO, a major emergency medicine textbook, and a subscription to SAEM Pulse. Winners will be announced in the July/August 2020 issue of SAEM Pulse.
The Clinical Pearls photos will be displayed alongside the Visual Diagnosis contest images. These photos will include a case history, a diagnosis and “take home” points. SAEM is proud to display original photos of educational value and gratefully acknowledges the efforts of the individuals who contributed to this year’s Clinical Pearls and Visual Diagnosis Contest entries as well as the patients who graciously allowed themselves to be photographed for our educational benefit.
Please note: Any images that are accepted for display at the popular SAEM Clinical Images Exhibit, and have patient consent sign-off, will also be featured on Academic Life in Emergency Medicine's (ALiEM) wide-reaching blog.
