Emergency Medicine in Peru

We have been closely following the development of Emergency Medicine in Peru. IWe have been working closely with our colleagues in Chile, Costa Rica, and Colombia, as well as with our colleagues in the US at Highland Hospital in Oakland California, as well as the leaders in EM education at EMRAP:GO. In addition to hosting residents in academic exchanges, Stony Brook IEM Fellows and Stony Brook EM residents have the opportunity to visit Emergency Rooms in Lima, Cusco, and Iquitos. Additionally, the Stony Brook IEM strongly encourages our fellows to apply to the Gorgas School of Tropical Medicine at Cayetano Heredia Hospital in Lima, Peru. The unparalleled clinical experience gives students the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field and to interact in ward rounds in the country's largest tropical medicine unit.
