Emergency Medicine in Chile

Stony Brook University's Division of International Emergency Medicine has a long partnership in Chile. Led by Drs. Mallon and Valenzuela, we have been involved with the birth of Emergency Medicine in Chile, have seen its recognition as a specialty, and have helped in its continuing development. Current projects involve research on trauma systems development as well as prehospital medicine capacitation and improvement. Residents, fellows, and faculty members have been to Chile for clinical rotations, and Stony Brook IEM has hosted countless Chilean Emergency Physician attendings and trainees in New York.
