“Precision Methods of Bacterial Infection Recognition in the Acute Care Setting"

Dr. Weissman is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interests include antibiotic stewardship in the acute care setting. She is particularly interested in developing and validating precision diagnostics to enhance bacterial pathogen recognition in complex critically ill patients who are frequently evaluated in the Emergency Department. Rapid and accurate diagnosis of bacterial infection can improve targeted antibiotic allocation, thereby improving patient outcomes and reducing antibiotic resistance and antibiotic resistant infections.
