AACEM Vacancy Services
As a benefit for AACEM members, you can now list open positions within your institution. Chairs are able to review the listings whether it is to take the next step in their career or to assist future leaders.
NIH & Other Funding
The breadth of interest within emergency medicine means that a very wide array of funding opportunities are available, both from private foundations and local, state, and federal government agencies. Two important sources of long-term, large-scale funding are the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Endorsement Request
Institutions who are creating an academic department of emergency medicine may request a letter of endorsement from AACEM. All endorsement requests will be reviewed by AACEM Executive Committee for final vote and decision. If approved, the requestor will receive two letters; a general endorsement letter highlighting AACEM’s support of the general principles of academic departments of emergency medicine and a specific letter reflecting endorsement of the institution from the AACEM President.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Library
An online resource library of publications for emergency physicians to learn more about achieving health equity and eliminating health disparities
Faculty Hiring Data
AACEM has compiled the faculty hiring data to help facilitate a way for Chairs to share information about faculty openings (or non-openings). The faculty hiring data is intended for Chairs.
Consultation Service
Members of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine possess expertise in teaching, research and other aspects of academic emergency medicine practice. The Society is often called upon to provide individuals, departments or institutions with consultations aimed at developing, evaluating, or improving various services, which it does through its committees and academies, or in consultation with the Association of Academic Chairs in Emergency Medicine (AACEM).
