AHRQ Requests Planning Ideas for New Innovations Research Portfolio - due October 15, 2008
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has issued a "Request for Planning Ideas for Development of an AHRQ Innovations Research Portfolio." The goal of AHRQ's new Innovations Portfolio is to identify and support research that has the potential to accelerate improvements in the organization, delivery, and management of health care. Call for Papers - AEM Consensus Conference (AEMCC 2009) - Deadline March 2, 2009
The 2009 Academic Emergency Medicine (AEM) Consensus Conference on Public Health in the Emergency Department: Surveillance, Screening, and Intervention will be held on May 13, 2009, immediately preceding the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA. 2009/2010 RWJ Health Policy Fellowships Program Application - Deadline November 14, 2008
Fellows experience and participate in the policy process at the federal level and use that leadership experience to improve health, health care and health policy. The fellowship is a 12-month residential experience in Washington, D.C. with continued health policy leadership development activities.

Call for NAEMSP-Zoll EMS Resuscitation Research Fellowship Application - Deadline November 20, 2008
NAEMSP and Zoll have offered the "NAEMSP-Zoll EMS Resuscitation Research Fellowship" for the past four years. This program is quite similar to the SAEM/Physio-Control Fellowship in EMS, in that the industry partner provides the funding and the association administers the grant (including selection of the recipient), but where the latter focuses on training the traditional EMS medical director, the former focuses on training a career researcher. (NAEMSP and SAEM have been working closely to jointly promote these two fellowships, as they are fairly different.

Experienced SAEM Reviewers

The NIH Center for Scientific Review has asked organizations such as ours to assist in developing a registry of experienced senior scientists who would make good reviewers. The link below leads to an online submission form developed by SAEM to collect information on our members that have an interest in being considered.
