Clerkship Director Boot Camp

Sponsored by: Clerkship Directors in Emergency Medicine (CDEM) Academy

Tuesday, May 14, 2019
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This workshop may be added to your SAEM19 registration!

There are many elements that go into running an emergency medicine clerkship — from training residents and faculty, to providing feedback, to advising students on away rotations and applications. Clerkship directors must also answer to many masters: the medical school, the department, students as learners, and students as advisees. As part of their role, clerkship directors are also responsible for accreditation standards, especially during visits from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). This workshop will discuss several of the factors that go into running a successful clerkship and how to navigate some of the pitfalls.
